At the 06:40 UTC read on 2026-09-27, our table lists EmpirioLabs’ RTX 4090 at $1.20 per GPU-hour. At the read just under two hours before it, 04:41 UTC, the same quote from the same price page read $0.65. Both figures are ours, both carry the minute they were read, and both are on /changelog with the source link that produced them.
96 moves, and one in every read
EmpirioLabs entered our table on the evening of 2026-09-25. We have read its price page 34 times since. Of those reads, 33 had a previous read to compare against, and every single one of the 33 carried at least one changed rate: 96 moves in all, spread over 14 of the 23 GPU models it lists. In the 24 hours to the 06:40 UTC read our whole table recorded 740 moves — 653 of them the Vast.ai marketplace floor, 75 EmpirioLabs, 12 Verda. One seller accounts for 75 of the 87 that were not a marketplace.
The RTX 4090 is the clearest case. Eighteen of the 96 moves are on that one card, and the figure it returned to most often is the dearest one: $1.20 in 19 of the 34 reads, $0.65 in 8, $0.90 in 5, $0.70 in 2.
What that does to the card’s numbers
On 2026-09-27 the RTX 4090 has 8 on-demand rate cards in our table. The median is $0.45 per GPU-hour, the cheapest is CloudRift at $0.39, and the spread the card page prints is 3.1x, $0.39 to $1.20. The top end of that spread is the figure that moved 18 times; at the 04:41 read the same seller’s number was $0.65. In the same window the only other RTX 4090 quote of ours that changed at all was Vast.ai’s marketplace floor, with 43 moves, and our tables keep marketplace floors apart from rate cards.
Other cards on the same page moved at other reads. The B200 read $6.99 at 06:40 UTC — 3% above the median rate card of $6.79 across 25 providers — and $11.20 at its dearest read in the window, over 9 moves. The L40S read $1.80 at 06:40 UTC and $0.80 in 4 of the 34 reads. Two more of its cards sit at opposite ends of their own tables: the GeForce RTX 3090 at $0.40, the lower of that card’s 2 rate cards and 11% below the median of $0.45, and the RTX 5090 at $1.40, which is 94% above the median of $0.72 across 7 providers, where HexGrid’s $0.55 is the cheapest.
How old is the number you are looking at
Most figures on this site are not hours old. Across the 621 quotes from 53 clouds in the table, the median listed figure has read the same for 7.0 days, and 307 of the 614 live quotes have stood 7 days or more — arithmetic over the listed_since field that prices.json publishes for every quote. That is why every rate row on a card page and a provider page carries two dates — when we captured it, and since when it has read the same — and why /changelog exists as a page of its own.
What these readings do not say: why this page changes between reads, whether a figure was payable at the moment we read it, or whether a card was in stock. We read listed prices, not availability, and our own provider page says so above the table.

Every figure above is listed under this piece with the page it came from and the time of the read. The counts of moves are over /changelog.json, which publishes each move with its date, both figures and the source link, 30 days for a listing provider and 24 hours for a marketplace. The medians and the spread are arithmetic over the same readings, computed as /methodology states. Nothing here is forecast and nothing here is advice: the piece counts what one price page printed, read by read, between 2026-09-25 and 2026-09-27.
