Clore.ai lists a floor on ten consumer cards; Vast.ai, the marketplace this site has read from the start, lists a live floor on six of those same ten. Where both print, the two figures sit between 7.2% and 43.4% apart: the RTX 3080 at $0.1553 on Clore.ai against $0.1449 on Vast.ai, and the RTX 5080 at $0.3063 against $0.5407.
Six cards, two floors read the same minute
Three of the six are close. The RTX 3080, $0.1553 against $0.1449, is 7.2% apart. The RTX 4090 reads $0.3806 on Clore.ai against $0.4378 on Vast.ai, 13.1% below it. The RTX 3090 reads $0.1597 against $0.1348, 18.5% above.
Three are not close. The RTX 3070 reads $0.1194 against $0.0963, 24.0% above. The RTX 5090 reads $0.5902 against $0.463, 27.5% above. And the RTX 5080 reads $0.3063 against $0.5407 — Clore.ai’s floor 43.4% below Vast.ai’s, on the same card, in the same minute.
What a floor is, and why two of them can disagree
Neither figure is one machine’s price. Each is the median of the five cheapest listings on that marketplace at the moment of the read, among those the marketplace itself marks verified, that are rentable, priced in dollars and carry a single GPU. It is not the cheapest ask on the board and it is not an average of the board.
So two marketplaces 43.4% apart on the RTX 5080, at $0.3063 and $0.5407, are not two readings of one number. They are two boards, with different hosts on them and different rules behind the word verified. Clore.ai writes its rule into its own table — a host rating above four, with reviews — and prices a machine per day, adding the renter fee its fee endpoint names before its table divides by 24; that is the figure recorded here. Vast.ai’s board carries its own verified flag, and our reading filters on that.
Where the second marketplace prints and the first withholds
On three of the ten cards Vast.ai’s board was too thin to carry a floor at that read. The RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 Super boards held one, one and two verified offers, where our rule needs three, so no figure is published and the row reads thin market. Clore.ai printed $0.2188, $0.3063 and $0.3719 on those three cards at the same minute.
The tenth card joined the catalogue the same morning. The RTX 4070 Ti entered it because Clore.ai’s $0.1746 gave RunPod’s Community Cloud rate of $0.19 a second source, 8.1% apart. Our tables carry no Vast.ai figure for it at all.
On two of its ten cards Clore.ai holds the cheapest live on-demand figure we list. The RTX 5080 at $0.3063 sits below RunPod’s Community Cloud $0.39, which is 21.5% above it, and below Vast.ai’s floor at $0.5407. The RTX 4070 Ti at $0.1746 is the other. On the remaining eight a rate card or the other marketplace sits lower — RunPod’s $0.34 on the RTX 4090, for one.
